Video Phone Concept with Unique Keypad

The challenge of the design brief was to create a design solution that enabled greater and easier levels of user interaction. The easy to understand keypad combined with the hand-writing recognition technology provides great information ergonomics for the user. Another of the video phone key selling points is its dual mode functionality. The phones keypad can be locked into place to provide a sturdy stand/rest to allow users to sit back enjoy the video calling experience.

Using Recycled Materials, Nokia Remade Concept Phone

Green design from Nokia, this concept phone is almost entirely made of recycled materials, aluminum cans, old plastic bottles and car tyres for the rubber keys. The first prototype showed at Mobile World Congress show in Barcelone by Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo. Although it is clearly that the inside chipset and electronics won’t be made from old tin cans, at least this ‘Remade’ Nokia concept phone will consume less natural resources and more energy efficient by cutting the power used to back-light the screen.

Too bad that this phone is just a concept phone, hopefully we can see this green mobiles in the market soon.

Another innovative design concept from Nokia, the morph concept. Featured in The Museum of Modern Art ?Design and The Elastic Mind? exhibition, the Morph concept device is a bridge between highly advanced technologies and their potential benefits to end-users. Developed by NRC (Nokia Research Center) in collaboration with the Cambridge Nanoscience Centre (United Kingdom), Morph is a concept phone that using nanotechnology which enables materials and components that are flexible, stretchable, transparent and remarkably strong. Users should be able to transform their cell phone into different shapes.

We probably see this technology another 5-7 years in the future, by using nanotechnology, hopefully can lead to low cost manufacturing solutions and the possibility of integrating complex functionality at a low price.

ROLLY AND BUDDY PDA

Functionality classic personal digital assistants incorporating new visual and ergonomic approaches. Personal digital assistants rolly and buddy are the concept PDAs developed for CREAT, Tokyo. After a complex and detailed research of the Japanese market aesthetic and functional attributes and aspects were decided. Two types were provided as a result of wish to push the trend forward combining its elements and putting then in a new arrangement. This PDAs look like a portable game console, perhaps Japanese are crazy about playing games.

Google Phone Telah Tiba!

Akhirnya Google Phone datang juga. Gadget yang merupakan ambisi Google Inc. dalam memberikan internet mudah kemanapun anda berada tersebut sekilas memiliki tampilan yang mirip iPhone dengan tambahan trackball, keyboard slider dan aplikasi untuk mengakses Gmail dan pemetaan.


Ponsel G1 tersebut ditampilkan oleh T-Mobile USA dan akan dijual pada harga US $179 dengan kontrak dua tahun. G1 saat ini sudah tersedia di pasaran Amerika dan akan tiba di Inggris pada bulan November dan tiba di negara Eropa lainnya pada awal tahun depan


G1 akan ditenagai oleh Android yang bertugas untuk memastikan bahwa aplikasi-palikasi seperti search engine akan berjalan mulus di ponsel tersebut seperti halnya di komputer. Google berharap nantinya gadget ini akan mampu menghasilkan uang dengan menerima iklan-iklan khusus pada gadget mobile.


Hal ini juga yang memicu Yahoo dan Microsoft dalam menanam modal besar untuk ikut menguasai pasar mobile dan mencegah dominasi Google di area tersebut.

Akankah G1 menang dari iPhone? Dan akankah G1 masuk ke Indonesia? Kita tunggu saja bersama-sama.

PONSEL MUSIK TERBARU DARI SAMSUNG

Samsung akan meluncurkan BEATb (M3410) dan BEATs (M3200) yang ditujukan bagi para pecinta musik. Kedua tipe ini dipersenjatai dengan motion play, mirip dengan teknologi shake control pada ponsel Sony Ericsson untuk seri Walkman-nya.

Fitur yang menarik lainnya adalah Digital Natural Sound (DNS), yaitu teknologi milik Samsung untuk memproduksi efek suara 3D. Selain itu, kedua ponsel ini memiliki fitur AutoEQ, dimana fungsinya adalah untuk mengatur equalizer sesuai dengan genre lagu yang diputar. Untuk urusan menambah koleksi lagu juga cukup mudah berkat adanya Shazam, yang akan mencari lagu dan men-download lagu yang diinginkan.

Keduanya memiliki beberapa kemiripan, seperti layar LCD 2 inchi, kamera 2 mega pixel yang dapat digunakan untuk merekam video, bluetooth 2.0, dan slot micro SD. Perbedaan yang mendasar dari kedua ponsel ini adalah pada ketebalan dan daya tahan baterainya. Untuk tipe BEATb memiliki ketebalan 9,9 mm dengan bentuk candy bar sedangkan untuk tipe BEATs berbentuk slider dengan tebal 16,9 mm.

Daya tahan baterai BEATs lebih lama dibandingkan dengan BEATb, dimana BEATs mampu bertahan sekitar 400 jam untuk standby dan 7 jam waktu bicara, sedangkan BEATb hanya mampu bertahan selama 250 jam untuk standby dan 5 jam jika digunakan untuk bicara.

Hari ini ajang Let’s Rock Apple telah memberikan beberapa pengumuman besar tentang MP3 player “ratusan juta” umat, iPod. Salah satu dari pengumuman tersebut adalah iPod Touch generasi kedua alias iPod Touch 2G.

iPod Touch terbaru itu sekarang mempunyai design baru yang lebih menyerupai iPhone namun lebih tipis dalam ukuran. Selain itu dia juga dilengkapi dengan fitur Nike+ (fitur asik hasil kerjasama antara Apple dengan Nike yang bisa berfungsi sebagai pedometer, memerlukan transmitter tambahan disepatunya), layar display 3.5 inchi, fitur Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g wireless, kontrol volume eksternal, dan software iPhone 2.1 yang baru .



Generasi baru, harga baru. Ipod Touch 2G sekarang dijual dengan harga $229 untuk model 8 GB, $299 untuk model 16 GB, dan $399 untuk model 32GB.
